Hello all from Italy, sorry but I can't speak german yet..
I have been the proud owner of an SP44A since new, and I still enjoy the old motor.
I tried to read through the pages of this forum but the translation by google don't make much sense to me so I decided to ask you guys a direct question.
I am looking for a solution to improve my rear shock, it has been rebuilt and resprung already once but it is not working well (too stiff/hard now).
There are a few similar options I could find in the market for that price range 400-500 euros (Hagon, Wilbers, Gubellini etc) and I was tempted by the Wilbers one, but do not have any experience with this company.
I would like to know if any of you has used the Wilbers mono shock unit and what is your experience with it. (I mean the basic version with adjustable rebound - Type 640 Road.)
Would you recommend it or would you recommend something else instead?
Also what suspensions setup would you recommend for the sp44? I am 110 kgms and have Wirth progressive springs on the front with 15wt Silkolene oil.

Thanks you can help

Re: Wilbers mono - good?

I think Wilbers 540 ist very good for
your DR. Not That expensive.
A good Dealer for that is
Tigerparts.de. This Suspension will be
made for your weight and bagage.
In Oktober most of the Dealers
give 10 % discount. If you have
Time....
Tigerparts has YSS Suspension to.
Look at his Homepage. It is similar
to Wilbers 640 and cheaper.

Re: Wilbers mono - good?
Thank you all for the information,
French muc, thank you for the advice, I am already a client of Wolfgang (Tigerparts)
oliver23, just a curiosity, what oil grade did you put in your fork with the progressive springs?
Supermeissi, I am not sure if I could understand exactly point 2, but I think 700 euros would be out of my budget for the mono alone.
Does the extra regulation make such a difference to be worth the extra price?

Hello
540 ecoline with no possibilities for regulation,640 with or without regulation ?
You must know, which one you prefer.
I am driving only on the street,no difficult terrain. I am driving not very slow. No second person on the bike.
I am driving a 640 with adjustable rebound damping on my triumph tiger.in my opinion, its not nessecary.
If you will order the shock and the springs, the dealer will recommend the right oil
Phone the dealer and ask for an advising, which paket is the best for your driving style
