Sebring + Mikuni 40 Flatslide?

Hello again,

I'm about to tune my SP42B and was thinking about buying a Sebring silencer with Holeshot krummer(?). I would also like to buy Mikuni 40 Flatslide carburettor. My question is, do I have to modify the airbox if I use the Mikuni? Has anyone done this? any tips?

Thanks!

Most of us have pulled out the airtip on the upper side of the airbox. The new carburettor needs more air and most often pulling it out is enough.
I´ve seen otheres who drilled wholes into theyr airbox to get more air... but I think its a bad idea to destroy the box

Feel free to test it :>

Ok - thanks. I will try with removing the airtip first and see how it works then. How about the aircleaner. I suppose and OEM K&N would be the best choise? Or should I go with a K&N single pod?

The K&N is a good choice because the OEM one isn´t made for such an airflow the new carburettor needs. But pulling out the tip off the airbox can be enough. Its the way I went because the noise without the tip is agressively increased. I don´t know how it sounds with K&N but it will be too much for me

pull out the tip and try :>
