Hi all,
I've now started to take apart my '93 RSE (sp43b). It had a motor defekt so I bought a sp41b engine for the street-supermoto project.
You guys seem to know a lot about DR650's so I'd like to get your opinion about tuning the bike.
I have couple of questions:
1) What should I check ...

Re: DR 650 carburettor removal?
Thanks guys. I managed to remove and install it just by loosening the airbox and removing the clamps from the intake and exhaust rubbers. That made the rubber more soft and easy to work with.

DR 650 carburettor removal?
Hi guys,
Is it possible to easily remove/install the carburettor without taking off the airbox? How?
Thanks,
Mara

Re: SP41A???
Aha. So he has tried to use the SP43 CDI unit with the SP41 engine?
I guess I have 2 options:
1) because my new SP41 engine comes with the SP41 CDI unit + all electrics, etc., I could replace the SP43 CDI unit + electrics with these and it would work fine then when put into the SP43 frame? In this ...

Re: SP41A???
OnTheFly,
Thanks for translating that thread for me! Is it so that I can't use the original vergaser from the SP43 if I fit the SP41 engine to the SP43 frame? Why? Could I use a vergaser from SP42?

Re: SP42B engine - from where?
Kami,
I just remebered you mentioned that only engines from 42 to 45 would fit my SP43B. So I suppose SP41 does not fit? Is there any way of making it fit or would it be too difficult/impossible?
ps. I have two bikes. '91 RS that is working (has some oil leaking from the left side between the ...

Re: SP41A???
Skitzo,
Thanks. I just got confirmation that the engine is infact 1991 SP41A (Italian model).
If anyone could confirm me if this will fit SP43B or not, I would be very greatfull. I don't want to buy an engine that will not fit.

SP41A???
Hello. I'm looking for an engine for my SP43B and I got an offer from a bikebreaker selling a 1992 SP41A engine. There is no mention of this type in "DR-typen" -page. Do you guys have any idea what is this engine?

SP42B engine - from where?
Hello again,
I just bought another DR, this time it's a '92 DR650RSE. It is in very band condition and has no engine at all. I have two questions for you: 1) where in Germany could I get a good complete engine for this bike and 2) can I use motors from SP44, 45 and 46?
Thanks again!

used hubs or wheels?
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if I can use any other hubs from other DR650 models on my SP42B? I'm looking for used front and rear hubs (or complete wheels) for my Supermoto rims.
Thanks again,
Mara

Re: Sebring + Mikuni 40 Flatslide?
Ok - thanks. I will try with removing the airtip first and see how it works then. How about the aircleaner. I suppose and OEM K&N would be the best choise? Or should I go with a K&N single pod?

Sebring + Mikuni 40 Flatslide?
Hello again,
I'm about to tune my SP42B and was thinking about buying a Sebring silencer with Holeshot krummer(?). I would also like to buy Mikuni 40 Flatslide carburettor. My question is, do I have to modify the airbox if I use the Mikuni? Has anyone done this? any tips?
Thanks!

Frostie,
Could you tell me the name of the dealer or alternatively a mailorder company where I could order that kit? It's next to impossible get derestricter kits for older Suzukis here in Finland. How much did your kit cost?

I see. What did you replace the cover with? And do you mean the jetneedle in inside the carburetor? Where can I get those parts?
